Look, some might think it's expensive for a beginners class on crochet, but I did not. The event was planned well, and as a result I think all the participants enjoyed ourselves a lot more. Alicia the teacher was very patient with us and went from person to person to make sure we were all making some progress. We could also ask her questions after the class if we had any. When we wanted to take a break and have a coffee or a sandwich, then we could do that. The Bowen Arrow Cafe was nice and cosy to be at on a Winter's day (though the music they played at first was a bit loud). They made good coffee and they have toilets (hurrah).

It was an enjoyable time and I feel confident in having learnt the basics of crochet to get me started. Alicia is a wonderful teacher who guided us through with clear and calm instruction. Alicia's knowledge and experience was able to quickly identify and resolve any problems we were having as we were learning, which kept the class moving along. I would highly recommend the class to anyone wanting to embark on the crochet journey.

Mia is a wonderful instructor. She was so patient, calm, supportive and informative. She shared some helpful graphics and links! She inspired me; so keen to create something personal. I thoroughly enjoyed her 3 hour lesson; the time disappeared quickly. The venue was lovely, great coffee and even some free parking.

I really enjoyed the workshop...the 3 hours passed very quickly. Mia was great, and had no difficulty helping me, even though I'm a Leftie. I went away feeling much more confident to try amigurumi. Class was small, which meant we regularly got individual help. Venue was easy parking, staff very friendly too.

Mia was great, really gave us the foundations to continue to learn on my own. I initially thought 3 hours would be a long class but it flew by. Would definitely recommend if you?re wanting to learn crochet

Tessa is one of your hosts here at Brisbane Crochet Club. Passionate about all things creative arts, including painting, drawing and macrame, crochet holds a special place in her heart and has since she began 3 years ago. Specializing in amigurumi, she has spent her crochet journey exploring the many joys of creating with yarn - and she can't wait to share them with you!
    Alicia Coetzer
Alicia is one of the instructors at Brisbane Crochet Club. She fell in love with crochet shortly after her mother-in-law taught her the basic stitches in 2017. After years of honing her skills and exploring various techniques in crochet, she is taking on the world of teaching the magical craft to others so they can unlock their own potential in creating unique pieces that they can be proud of.
Her area of expertise is to create practical pieces that can be used in every day life. Her new found passion is clothing and different statement pieces that can be worn or used around the house. She enjoys ending off a busy day with weaving her favourite yarn into art!
